I just found a great article on using the maps in disasters. I will not translate or anything like that, but I think it's reference.
interesting experiences, which began some of Gulic in connection with a storm in alertacanarias.crowdmap.com , and the map in hexayurt.crowdmap.com hexayurts .
At the base maps powered by voluntary reports made by mail, twitter or SMS against a graphical database software made free .
Volunteers can be "free agents" or in some cases form "communities" (even "protocols" ).
Wonder if you could not use some of this to Canaripedia . In the Canary Islands and no maps, Google and of GRAFCAN . But layers with "other data" or presented them with "other income" ... hm. Any ideas?
Update: See also openstreetmap.org (thanks Victor) and healthmap.org .
